Gallery 3 - Fragments
When I moved from Tennessee to North Carolina in 2021, I realized I'd have much less storage available and moving them would be expensive. So I began destroying some of my old paintings. In the middle of this I decided to save sections of them. I came to think of these remnants as "fragments." They're maybe even more important to me than the complete originals ever were. I came to think about how we experience life as a series of "now" moments. And how we're only capable of remembering the most special bits and pieces of those moments, "the, uh, stuff that dreams are made of."
I am also including a few very old drawings made on newsprint that have faded and been torn over the decades.
Nothing in this gallery is currently for sale. I intend to make a collage(s) and/or or mosaics out of the painted pieces and use the drawings as source material for new paintings.
